Easy Garlic Baby Bok Choy

An easy, no frying bok choy recipe!

  • 4-6 bunches baby bok choy
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • a dash pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil


  • Wash baby bok choy, set aside. Cut in quarters length-wise or peel bok choy stalks out individually as preferred.
  • Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, pepper and sugar together in a small bowl/saucer.
  • Boil a pot of water, add a few drops of vegetable oil. Put bok choy stalks first in boiling water for about a minute, then fully submerge for another 40 seconds to a minute until bok choy turns lush green and stalks look translucent.
  • In a pan on medium heat, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil. Fry minced garlic until corners start to brown, stir in soy sauce mixture prepared above. Stir everything together for about a minute. Pour sauce mixture over baby bok choy and serve immediately.
