10 Easy Healthy Snack Recipes

Woohoo! We’re fast approaching the end of circuit breaker, but it seems like it’ll be a while more before we can head back into the office or for recreation.

While house-bound, we’ve found ourselves appearing at the fridge or snack cupboard on auto-pilot often. Has anybody been experiencing the same? 

We’ve been trying to snack healthier but have found store bought healthy snacks to be pretty pricey, so we figured it would be helpful to introduce a list of healthy snack recipes to keep our wallets happy and make us all feel better about snacking! These snack recipes are oh-so-delicious! Who knows, you may just start incorporating these permanently for a healthier lifestyle.

1. Black Bean Brownies

You wouldn’t believe it but these brownies are made with black beans! and trust us, sooo delicious nobody would suspect they’re healthy. 

The black beans are perfect for creating a fudgy and full flavour without the unhealthiness! Flour free recipes are a godsend now that flour is in short supply and flying off the shelves. Try these out today!

2. Healthy banana bread

Banana Bread has been making its rounds through everyone’s recipe repertoire this circuit breaker, and we can absolutely see why! It’s easy to bake and makes the house smell incredible.

Here’s a healthier alternative recipe using whole wheat flour, natural honey or maple syrup and unrefined oil instead of butter. Oil is a commonly used butter substitute that makes your baked goods beautifully moist. Looking for some afternoon snacks to munch on? 

Banana bread can be stored up to a week upon completion, just make sure to refrigerate and give it a give spin in the microwave for warm banana bread when you’d like to eat it. These energy balls are filled with fiber and protein, and can be stored in the fridge to satisfy your cravings anytime!

5. Honey Garlic Cauliflower

We are crazy for hummus, and you should be too! 

For this homemade hummus dip, you would need to let the chickpeas soak overnight and return to it the next day. Yes, it may be tempting to just buy it from the store, but making it yourself is way more fulfilling! 

This is a dip that you can literally eat with anything, snack on it with some baby carrots or sliced cucumbers for a refreshing and healthy midday snack!
